The local village of Isola di Fano (three minutes) provides a small supermarket/general store, bakery, pharmacy, bank and post office.
A ten minute drive is the small town of Fossombrone with a lot more to offer in the way of shopping. A farmers' market is held every Monday morning.
For compulsive 'shopaholics,' Fano (30 mins) has an 'Auchan' shopping mall and upmarket shops. Markets on Saturday.
Restaurants
There are several excellent restaurants within a ten minute drive ranging from low price agroturismi to pizzerie to top-end ristoranti. A full file of information and maps etc are maintained at the house, together with comments from previous guests. Acqualagna (5 mins if you fly like an eagle, twenty if you drive in a panda) proudly celebrates the tartufo bianco, the white truffle, in its annual tartufo feste which takes place over three weekends commencing the last week in October. Black truffles are also found locally. Other local delicacies include wild boar (cinghiale), funghi porcini, casciotta cheese from Urbino, vino di visciole from Pergola and, of course, all types of seafood.
